  1. Refrigeration capacity
  • Condensing methanol: The boiling point of methanol is about 64.7°C (at standard atmospheric pressure). Therefore, the chiller needs to be able to provide cooling capacity below this temperature, usually around 5-10°C.
  • Material cooling: The refrigeration capacity of the chiller is determined based on the specific reaction temperature and the required cooling rate. For example, if the material needs to be quickly cooled from high temperature to room temperature or lower, the chiller needs to have sufficient cooling power.

  1. Flow rate and pressure
  • Condenser: The condenser requires a certain cooling water flow rate to ensure effective condensation. The flow rate is usually between a few liters per minute and tens of liters per minute, depending on the design and size of the condenser.
  • Reactor: The cooling of the material in the reactor also requires sufficient flow rate and pressure to ensure a uniform cooling effect. Generally, the flow rate should be in the range of 10-30 L/min, depending on the capacity of the reactor and the heat load of the material.

  1. Temperature control
  • Accuracy: To ensure effective condensation of methanol and stable cooling of materials, the refrigerator should have high-precision temperature control, usually with a control accuracy of ±1°C or less.
  • PID controller: The use of a PID controller can achieve fast and stable temperature adjustment to ensure that the system operates within the set temperature range.

  1. Safety protection measures
  • Overtemperature protection: Automatically cut off the power supply when the temperature exceeds the set value.
  • Overpressure protection: Prevent the system pressure from being too high.
  • Leak detection: Detect whether the system has leaks.
  • Emergency stop button: Quickly stop the system in an emergency.

  1. Operation interface
  • Touch screen or digital display: Intuitively display the current temperature, set temperature and other parameters.
  • User-friendly operation interface: Easy to set and monitor temperature, support programming and data logging functions.

Recommended Configuration

  1. Chiller type
  • Water-cooled chiller: Suitable for large capacity and high efficiency requirements. Heat is removed by circulating cooling water, suitable for industrial production environments.
  • Air-cooled chiller: Suitable for occasions with limited space or insufficient water supply. The fan blows air through the heat sink to take away the heat.

  1. Refrigeration capacity
  • Select the appropriate refrigeration capacity according to the specific needs of the 200L distillation kettle. Assuming that you need to cool the material from high temperature to room temperature or lower in a short time, you can choose a chiller with a refrigeration capacity in the range of 5-10 kW.

  1. Circulation pump
  • Flow rate: 10-30 L/min
  • Head: Select the appropriate head according to the resistance of the system, usually around 10-20 meters of water column.

  1. Temperature control system
  • PID controller: achieve high-precision temperature control.
  • Temperature sensor: installed at key positions of the condenser and reactor to monitor the temperature in real time.
